Biography
Agriculture always has been a part of Chris Myers’ life. The founder of M6 Capital Management grew up on a 1,200-acre farm in Mississippi, where his family grew row crops and raised catfish, cattle, sheep and horses. His family also ran a large feed mill and grain elevator. Chris Myers received a BS and a Master’s of Agri-Business Management degree from Mississippi State University. In 1995, Chris began working in Memphis, TN for Sparks Companies, at the time one of the premier agricultural research and market analysis firms in the world.
While at Sparks, Mr. Myers traveled throughout the US, Canada, and South America estimating crop production, then later conducted commodity analysis in several commodities areas. In 2001, Mr. Myers began working directly for Dr. Willard Sparks at Cattlco, Inc., which at the time was the world’s 7th largest cattle feeding operation producing 450,000 cattle annually. Chris’s job was to conduct research and analysis on grain and livestock markets and then develop and implement hedging and trading strategies.
Upon Mr Sparks death in 2005, Chris Myers registered M6 Capital Management, LLC as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and began trading customer money. In the name of the firm, the “M” stood for Myers, and the “6” stood for six members of his immediate family. In 2019, Mr Myers decided to pursue different endeavors and closed the CTA and is now trading his own money. Chris Myers is still actively trading agricultural markets, writes the M6 Daily Market Letter, and provides market analysis to farm clients.
